Studio Scale AT-ST (ROTJ)

 

Joe Johnston built a first model which was used in the background of the Hoth's battle. They decided to reuse this concept of a two-legged walker in Return of the Jedi. They modified a bit the design though. A new head and shorter legs was the new look of the AT-ST. They built a live size model, a 2 footer version for the pyro effects and a 12"5 go-motion model. That this one I will present you. Since they dont recall what parts from what kits Joe Johnston used, they scratchbuilt a lot of them. I prefered to go with the right parts (the hunting parts is very interesting) on mine, so it's not trully studio-scale, we will say "studio-size". My model is fully articulated like the model built by ILM. Let's go with the building pics !
